A contractor for Saipem Guyana Inc. is seeking a Messman to assist cooks with food preparation, cleaning, and dining room operations aboard offshore vessels. The selected candidate will be employed by a subcontractor responsible for catering services on Saipem vessels operating in Guyana. The candidate must be prepared to work overtime and travel globally with the vessel's crew.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the cook(s) with food preparation as requested
- Assist in properly labeling, covering and storing unused food after each meal
- Assist in cleaning food preparation areas and equipment
- Assist in inventorying and stocking food products and supplies
- Bus and reset tables in the dining room following meals
- Wash refrigerators, tables, utensils, cabinets and other kitchen items
- Wash dishes and silverware
- Clean food preparation and storage areas
- Clear tables and clean dishes
- Fill out necessary documents
- Slice and prepare fruit for each meal service
- Clean the dining room
- Wash the dining room floor manually and with a machine
- Refill refrigerators in the dining room
- Refill goods needed in the dining room
- Prepare ice cream for the ice cream machine and clean the machine after use
- Help with deep cleaning in the galley
- Assist in the galley during meal services
- Help unload when food containers arrive
- Help on the service counter during mealtime service
- Help segregate fruits and vegetables in refrigerators
- Be ready to work overtime if necessary
